Sagada 2017

I have always loved the beach but I just found another heaven on earth.

Sagada has been in the mainstream in places to visit for quiet a while now, despite it's popularity never did I include this in my bucketlist until recently I decided to visit the place.

This is my new default staycation. It's a place to celebrate every mood you're in.

Nothing but Good vibes.

Lobo, Batangas - DIY Road Trip

A Day before our travel I was still indecisive whether to head North (Magalawa Island, Zambales)  or South (Lobo, Batangas) for a quick weekend getaway. I sure did my homework for both places though, researched for routes, distance, and accommodation including essential tips from blog posts I’ve read.

I was quite reluctant in pursuing Magalawa Island because I’ve already spent a night or two camping in Anawangin, Nagsasa and Potipot Island which typically has that same feels and Lobo Batangas sounds new to me, hence the advantage to my ever curious nomad persona.

Almalin Beach Resort

This sleepy town has a lot to offer, so here’s to what I did this summer.

Travel time from Taytay Rizal to Lobo Batangas is 2h 57 mins (130.7 km)  with minimal traffic congestion and stopovers.

Nowadays, it’s much easier to reach off the beaten places with the help of Waze. See how the road curls up there? It already gives you an idea how the terrain looks like, scary and exciting for my 2 years driving experience

Our first stop was in Almalin Beach resort

A very calming mood of the resort by the beach

bummers!

In capping off our quick weekend travel we head on to see for real the Faro de Punta Malabrigo.

Overlooking Verde Island Passage and Mindoro Island the Malabrigo Light House is one of the few remaining Spanish era lighthouses in the Philippines that are actively used until today.

A must see where the locals frequently visits for a swim is the pebbled beach which is roughly 118 steps to get down and back up the lighthouse

The water was so clear and inviting but I wasn’t ready for a 118 steps going up

A well deserved rest.

Commuting Directions:
Cubao Bust Terminal ( near Shopwise) or
Alabang Bus Terminal (next to Starmall)
Take the bus to Batangas City, get off at Batangas Grand Terminal.

From there take a jeepney bound to Batangas Basilica near the Batngas City Hall
Ride a tricycle to Lobo Jeep Terminal near SM Batangas City and take another jeepney bound to Lobo Town proper.

Private Transport:
I suggest you use the mobile app WAZE or Google Map. It will lead you to a shorter travel time route, the zigzag route. Have a safe drive.

Breakfast Adventure - Eggs for Breakfast

So I recently moved to Taytay Rizal and living along this side of the metro is close to the same feeling of waking up every morning back in the province. But of course less the busy work week, you will only get to feel this “almost – close to home” feeling during weekends.

Weekends and holidays are those days when you don’t feel like doing anything.  Who wouldn’t want to get up late and binge on a healthy breakfast served delightfully just for you?

Amazingly, Google has all the options on where to have our morning meal, one lazy Saturday.

Craving, we head on to our journey in search for this Google suggested café.  Now, this again is another hole in the wall because of its location alone, Located inside the Velada Estate, in Mambugan  Antipolo Rizal. Eggs for Breakfast opens as early as 7:00 AM until 9:00 PM from Monday to Sunday.

The reviews have been pretty much interesting for this restaurant and ambiance wise, the place is homey. Our order was elegantly plated
and served just right on time.

Location Overview:

From Marikina, take Sumulong highway passing by Masinag and Mambugan. Located at your right leading to Antipolo, Eggs for Breakfast’s address is at Velada Estate in Mambugan, Antipolo Rizal.

From Antipolo: take Sumulong highway, Velada Estate is on your left

Although their food is a bit pricey, I have nothing much to suggest on. This restaurant deserves a thumbs up from us.
